CDS Open House Recap
On June 17, 2025, members of Northeastern’s digital scholarship community gathered in the Centers for Digital Scholarship for the first CDS open house event. The gathering centered the CDS community who gathered over snacks to increase connections across the projects and to highlight the “neighborhood” of the CDS.
After an initial informal gathering, the group convened for a walking tour of many of the projects currently hosted in the CDS, including the Early Caribbean Digital Archive, Early Black Boston Digital Almanac, Mapping Black London, Digital Transgender Archive, Reckonings, Center for Transformative Media, NULab for Digital Humanities and Computational Social Science, and Digital Archive of Indigenous Language Persistence, as well as a few of the projects supported by the Digital Scholarship Group. The group heard a bit from each project about their mission and current works in progress, while getting to see where the projects are located. Each project shared a handout highlighting their mission, which can now be found at the entrance of the CDS. The Open House was the first of many opportunities to generate more tangible connections and collaborations between the projects and individuals that are part of the CDS community
We are excited about the connections made at this event, and we hope that if you could not join us this time, we will see you at our next gathering!
