The CDS is not the only resource for digital scholarship available at Northeastern University. There is an excellent landscape of support for digital scholarship that can help CDS projects and researchers with many different aspects of their work. We gather here a brief directory of organizations that provide relevant support and resources.

University Archives and Special Collections

NULab for Digital Humanities and Computational Social Science

The NULab supports research projects and scholarly exchanges through grants and other programs, trains graduate students in DH and CSS skills through a Graduate Certificate in Digital Humanities and a graduate Fellows program, and helps to bring digital and computational methods into a broad range of classes through the Digital Integration Teaching Initiative. They also sponsor talks, symposia, and an annual conference and co-host the NUDIGITAL Slack and listserv with the DSG. They are an important anchor for the CDS and their CDS office is a gathering point for NULab researchers, especially those working on NULab-funded grants and students in the DH Certificate program.

Humanities Center

The Humanities Center supports faculty and student research in the humanities and social sciences through fellowship programs, working groups, discussion forums, symposia, seminars, informal dialogues, conferences, and joint projects. With locations on Northeastern’s Boston, London, and Oakland campuses, the Humanities Center supports essential connections between researchers and projects across Northeastern’s global campus network. Their CDS office is a focal point for new programs and staff to provide long-term support of digital projects.

Digital Repository Service

The DRS serves as the informational foundation for many types of digital projects, and provides secure, long-term management and access for important digital resources including digitized materials, data sets, and publications created by members of the Northeastern community. The DRS staff also provide important services such as creating digital object identifiers (DOIs), providing advice on digitization and metadata creation, and providing essential information about Northeastern’s data curation and digital preservation practices to support external funding proposals.
