Get Involved
If you’re interested in participating more actively in the collaborative research that takes place within the CDS, or in contributing to the planning and organization of the space, there are several great ways to do that. We welcome your engagement and contribution of effort!
Stay in touch
You can follow CDS activities and stay connected via our Slack channels, our email announcement list, and our blog. Sign up:
- Join the NU Digital Slack workspace, and then subscribe to the CDS channels
- Subscribe to the CDS email list
- Read our blog (and consider contributing—we welcome guest posts by CDS affiliates!)
Organize, join, and share events
CDS is a great space for workshops, informal presentations, discussion groups, hackathons, and other kinds of events. Consider getting involved:
- attend an event! Check our events page for a current schedule.
- contribute to one of our regular event series, such as our work-in-progress series or a discussion session at DH Office Hours—contact the CDS coordinator if you’re interested!
- organize an event—we welcome proposals for hackathons, workshops, you name it. The calendar will fill up, so please contact the CDS coordinator to talk about timing and for help booking a space.
- help us spread the news! Share CDS happenings with your colleagues and social networks.
Join or create a research group
The NULab hosts working groups on topics including critical making, digital cultural heritage, civic tech, and generative AI. These groups share ideas via Slack and hold meetings virtually and in person, and they’re open to participation by faculty, students, and staff. Consider joining one of these working groups: just join the NUDigital Slack workspace and subscribe to the working group channel. Or if you’d like to propose a new topic, contact us!
Work or collaborate in the CDS
CDS projects sometimes have student positions or internship opportunities available—you can learn more about these on our opportunities page (coming soon).
